I.M.P. HISTORY
Opened in 1991 as a niche business for women, It’s My Pleasure began in a small space
on upper Hawthorne Blvd. Three years later, having established a loyal customer base
and a home for itself in the Portland business community, IMP expanded to another
Hawthorne neighborhood location boasting 3,000 sq ft. Gentrification and escalating
rent squeezed IMP off the busy blvd into its current location in an elegant, cozy
building (unfortunately off the beaten path). Over the years the customer base has,
as a natural evolution, changed from mostly lesbians to all kinds of women, and finally
